Sutton Sammy (Our Groundhog) Have you heard of Sutton Sammy? Let us tell you a story of our brave "little" groundhog... Rumor is that in 1840 Groundhogs banded together to make their presence known So in 1841 groundhogs were posted in towns around the world and given the gift of immortality. Rumor also claims Sutton Sammy helped James Bouchier establish the settlement of Sutton, and was one of the first residents. It is unclear if the town was named after Sammy or not. He's our Ground Hog and he now lives under the Water Tower! Every February 2nd Sammy comes out of his Hole to predict the arrival of Spring! See you Store Front February 2nd!
